Meet our Governors

Mr Alan Tilman - Chair of Governors

I am the Chair of Governors and have been a governor for 4 years since my first child started at the school.

I believe that a good early education for children can have a huge impact on their attitude to learning and their abilities in later education; our school strives to provide the best environment and opportunities for all, and I am very proud to be part of the team that helps shape the vision and direction.

I’m committed to supporting the school and working closely with the Head to ensure the school has the resources required to deliver the best experience we can.

I’m enthusiastic about the children’s learning and development and enjoy visiting the school and helping with enrichment activities to get involved first hand with the children and see the impact of the teaching.  I am proud of our achievements and the results our children get.

Mr Paul Chylinski - Co-opted Governor

I am a Co-opted Governor, elected by the Governing Body, having previously been a Foundation Governor at St Andrews for 4 years.

I sit on both the Personnel & Finance (which I chair) and Quality & Standards committee's. I am delighted to still be involved in the school community and regularly see what a brilliant environment has been built by the staff, parents and governors. I remain keen to build on this and help St. Andrew’s to continue to offer a great education and be a fun, safe place for our children.

Now retired, I spent forty plus years within the Automobile Industry and have experience in Budgeting, Business planning and Operational Management. I welcome the opportunity to assist the governing body in its role to deliver the best for our school and children.

Mrs Allison Underhill - Headteacher

I have been a primary school teacher for over 25 years and have taught all primary school year groups in a variety of different sized schools ranging from 0.5 to 3 forms of entry. I am a Local Leader of Education (LLE) which enables me to offer support to other schools when required and am also the Deanery Rep for Coventry Diocesan schools. I was appointed as Head Teacher at St Andrew's in September 2010 and feel privileged to work with such a committed and highly skilled team of teachers, support staff and governors who work tirelessly to ensure our school is the very best it can possibly be.

Mrs Ann Burton - Staff Governor

Reverend Jo Joyce - Foundation Governor

As Vicar of St Andrew’s Church, I am a Foundation Governor and work to support the school maintain its Christian ethos. I joined St Andrew’s in 2021 as Vicar and have enjoyed getting to know the local community and connecting church and school life. I love meeting the children and helping them to reflect on the spiritual side of life creatively, recognising that we all connect with God in different ways. Before being a Vicar I worked as a manager in local government and have worked in the horticultural sector in different way for twenty years prior to ordination, bringing a wide variety of experience from that to my present role.

Mrs Natalie Depledge - Parent Governor

I am a parent governor at St Andrew's and began my role in October 2023. My daughter joined the school in September 2022 and I was eager to contribute to this wonderful school and its community.  I am a qualified primary school teacher with 10 years experience but I now run a tutoring business, working with a range of children. I hope this experience means I can support the school in the best way I can and foster a collaborative environment that ensures the best possible outcomes for our pupils. I strive to contribute my insights and perspectives as both a parent and educator, working alongside fellow governors and staff to promote a positive and enriching learning environment for all our pupils here at St Andrew’s.

Mr James Sheerman - Parent Governor

Mr Ivo Nikolov - Parent Governor

Mr Daniel Collins - Parent Governor

Mrs Julia McNaney - Foundation Governor

I have been a Foundation Governor since August 2023 and I am the nominated governor for Safeguarding for St Andrews School. I was a Police Officer for 31 years with the West Midlands Police. When I retired in 2007, I became a  consultant for the Home office for five years and the Department of Health for two years. From 2005 until 2019 I ran my own Training Consultancy, but fully retired in 2019. I have a MSc in Legal and Forensic Psychology and I have an Advanced Certificate in Education.

From my limited contact so far, St.Andrews is an impressive little school. The children are happy and engaged and the staff are committed to doing their very best for them. I’ve seen two concerts in school and a whole school service in Church and all were a credit to those involved. Going forward I hope to be more involved on a day to day basis and to help the Governing body to give as much support to the school as possible.

Karen Mihajlovic - LA Governor

I have worked in the HR Service for Coventry City Council for 31 years, much of this time supporting schools within the City.  I am looking forward to working with my fellow governors in supporting St Andrew's in any way I can.

Nicole Perry - Parent Governor

I am a parent governor at St Andrew's and began my role in 2021.  When my children started at the school in 2020, I was very impressed with the start to school life that they received and jumped at the opportunity to contribute to the school community by becoming a governor.  I have been a primary school teacher for 13 years and work at a local primary school.  I hope that my expertise and knowledge will enable me to support the school in its continued success and development.  I look forward to working with the hardworking St Andrew's Staff and governors to provide the best start for our children.
